Tomte is excited to set up a pop-up shop in the craft pavilion at the Denver County Fair next week. The fair runs July 28-31 at the National Western Complex. Our store at 41st and Tennyson will be closed the majority of the week so we can set up and staff our booth. However, most everything from the store will move to the fair for the week, so come on down to shop Tomte!

Fair Hours:
Thursday: 6pm – 10 pm
Friday: 10am – 10pm
Saturday: 10am – 10pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm

The home brew of the month is an IPA and snacks by Cake will be provided.

Screen printing will take place Friday, April 1  from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Here is a preview of what Elena has been working on for her upcoming trunk show this Friday!

Here is a little bit about Elena:

“Grew up mostly in Ft. Collins. I’ve been doodling and crafting since I was a kid. I went to art school for a couple years in New York and became enthralled with a lot of the melting of lines between craft, folk art and fine art and between the various disciplines. I finished school at CSU concentrating in drawing and fibers in 2009. Since then I’ve been exploring the fantastic, magical, whimsical and dark themes my art in both paper and fabric realms. I work very organically- very little is planned. For my dolls I have started making a basic body and then decorating them, but I can never bring myself to duplicate anything. I prefer to hand stitch as much as possible- it is much easier to sculpt and draw with thread this way. I like unique, quirky, natural and recycled materials and try to use them as much as possible.”

Tomte is pleased to announce a holiday preview of our new Berkeley/Tennyson location.
The store will not officially move until February 2011, but we’d like give the neighborhood a little Tomte preview! (the Platte Street store is closing Dec 24th)

Tomorrow from 11-6pm birthday celebrations will be taking place at Tomte! There will be free gnome buttons and gnome totes with every purchase (while supplies last). We will have homemade birthday treats and tiny batch Tomte öl (our Tomte home brew). And activities! For Saturday only Build Your Own Terrarium will be a mere $5! (ceramic mushrooms, sheep, and gnomes extra.) And lastly, but certainly not least, felty Tomten! If we can figure out space we will have a gnome needle felting station, but either way there will be kits for purchase!
